God’s Faithfulness and Love

Love is patient and kind, love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

The verse above has always struck a cord with me, so much so that I have it tattooed down my side.

Throughout my life, God has shown me consistent love, even though I may have not seen it at the time. Looking back now, I can see how God has prepared me for the woman I am today and for the life that He has blessed me with.

When I was younger, I felt as though love was so far away, I was not confident in the person I was. The world kept telling me that I wasn’t pretty enough, skinny enough, or smart enough. I not only struggled with my outward appearance but inward, (who could love me). The world tells women all the time that there is a better us, or if we only do (fill in the blank) that our life would be better or more people would like us.

Over the past few years, I have come to understand that throughout my entire life, God has not only shown me love but He has also been preparing me for my husband and life.

A little about me….

I have always been drawn to art. In college, I ended up majoring in photography and metalsmithing.

I grew up with dark curly unruly hair, and what most girls would consider a thick body figure. I’m very shy, and have a strong type B personality. The man God had for me was attracted to all the things I had thought all my life to be my flaws. He loved my unruly dark hair and was attracted to the real me. We clicked from the moment we first met which was in March; we were married that next June.

When I first met my husband, he had just started his own business, a Hot Rod Shop, which we continue to operate today. Our business has given us the opportunity to work side by side, allowing us to spend a lot of time with one another. God has been so faithful in not only blessing our relationship but our business as well.

Our kids get to hang out with us in the shop, which allows my husband and I to get to spend a lot of time with them on a day-to-day basis. We also get to witness to our clientele. We get to tell our customers about how we me at church, and we get to tell them how God has always had a plan for our lives. We have the opportunity to share His faithfulness– all the way from finances to getting to meet new people in which we get to share God’s love with.

Some ways I’ve seen Gods faithfulness looking back:

My husband is a strong type A and I’m a good laid back B for him.

My husband loves to work on cars and is extremely good at it and I’m good at taking care of the books. (I had two previous jobs that had prepared me to do this, jobs I didn’t like at the time but gave me the knowledge I needed).

Our wedding was an outdoor wedding with no back up. It rained everywhere that day except where our wedding was.

The day I decided to quit my job to work with my husband, God has never let us go without work. He has financially provided for our family consistently.

God’s love and faithfulness has been overwhelming in my life. I didn’t see it growing up, but as I’ve gotten older, and maybe a little wiser, it shows itself daily.

True love is kind and patient. Being able to look retrospectively has been amazing and has shown a light on His daily faithfulness. I have found taking a moment to reflect with God will open your eyes to how He loves consistently.

A little about me: I am a photographer, metalsmith, mother of two and I run a small business, Level 7 Motorsports, with my husband Jesse. I grew up in Southern Illinois. After graduating college, I moved up north and quickly learned that I liked the slower paced life of Southern Illinois much better. So, I moved back home, opened up my photo studio and worked another full time job just trying to make ends meet. Two years after moving back, I met my husband Jesse at church and my life was dramatically changed within a year. Since 2015 I’ve worked with my husband full time and I’ve seen God work in our lives in dramatic ways and provide for our family in amazing ways
