Through God’s Lens

Isn’t it funny how we see ourselves as this dirty pair of worn out sneakers, but God sees us as brand new, white and clean as snow. If we start seeing ourselves as he does, we can learn to love ourselves and others as he does too. If you’re anything like me, it’s easy to get caught up in past mistakes and tear myself down for who I was before I truly came to know the Lord. The beauty in that statement is “Who I was”. Who I am now is what matters, living in the now is what matters. God died for our sins knowing that we were and are going to sin. He loves us too much to leave us there though, and when we choose to follow him and live for his glory, he makes us new, washes us clean, and redeems us. So I encourage you today to rest in knowing that you are made new through the blood of Jesus. You are HIS and you are HOLY. God has grace for you, and tomorrow is a new day. Celebrate this Christmas season remembering who it is about, take in the small moments, and thank the Lord above for his works, grace, and redeeming love. You are forgiven, loved, and made new friend.

“We praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belongs to his dear Son.” Ephesians 1:6
