Worth The Risk

It’s Worth the Risk

The culture we live in can cause many of us to fall short of what God desires for us, our best life now! Not tomorrow or yesterday, but today. We are handcrafted by God for purpose; we are not here by happenstance. We are the life and light of God.

I absolutely love the name of this ministry, “Worth the Risk”. From the first time I heard about this ministry of encouragement, I loved its mission! It’s so vital that we understand our worth and value on a regular everyday basis.

Some years back when God had me on a discovery pilgrimage, I ran across this quote from Saint Irenaeus, “The glory of God is man fully alive.” I could not get away from the message contained within this short sentence. Something so simple completely inundated me! God used it as part of a transformation He was doing within me; taking me to new level of purpose.

Yet, what did it mean to be fully alive? What did that look like daily? How exactly was I to fulfill that purpose in my life? As I prayed, sought God, and studied His word, I found new revelation for my life. Scripture began to strike a chord in a new way within me. “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full” (John 10:10). God desires us to live full lives, not just busy lives, but productive, overcoming and empowering lives!

We are not to be dead men walking, just floating along like a river controlled by the environment. We are to be the head and not the tail. Being fully alive is so much more than just being responsible, it is the purpose for which we are created. Life… and when God speaks, purposeful life is created.

In Ezekiel 37 we read about the valley of dry bones.

“The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath[a] enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’” 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. 9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.”

We have great potential because the hand of the Lord is upon us. He has brought us to the place we are currently at: spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. He has real, genuine, God-given, hand-designed purpose for all of us! God brought supernatural life back into the dead dry bones in Ezekiel and they became fully alive.

I believe God is bringing us to the place where we have the faith needed to fulfill the purpose for which we are created and when we come together in this purpose, we will be like the vast army that God raised up in Ezekiel. We will be women of purpose, knowing our true Identity in Christ, and taking the necessary risk to let the glory of God shine forth from us and become a fully alive army of disciplined disciples leading by example, it is worth the risk!
